The engine of a 16ft open boat owned by Mr. F. Avery was damaged by an. outbreak of fire about 10.30 on Friday night, when the boat was anchored in Anzac Bay, Waiheke. No one was in the boat at the time, but the fire was seen from the shore and smothered with wet coats. The fire was attributed to a short circuit in the electrical system. Ladies' floral cotton coats, with inset I sleeves and patch pockets, belted. Assorted sizes, dually 21/; reduced to i »/ll. —JCL, Queen Street.—(Ad.)
