JACKO'S SUCCESS.
EASY WIN IN CARRINGTON STAKES. Reproducing the excellent form that had enabled him to -win the Chisholm Handicap a few days earlier, Jacko proved too solid for his ten opponents in Tattersall's Carrington Stakes. Coming home strongly, after being at the rear of the field for the first two furlongs, he scored by threequarters of a length from Visa, with Chemosh a length and a half further back in third place. Jacko exerted his superiority over his rivals in a most marked manner. Last at the half-mile, he was in front of only one horse approaching the turn into the straight, and when, the horses were in line for the judge, he had only five good sprinters in front of him. Sustaining a run on the outside, Jacko had charge of the situation just after passing the furlong post, and he won convincingly. Jacko covered the six furlongs in the satisfactory time of 1.11%. It was a most impressive display, for the horse was kept wide in the straight, but seemed to gather up his opponents in an exceptionally short space of time. About the three-furlong post, Burracootboo, who was then running in fourth position, had, to be pulled up, having broken down badly.
