SOCIAL GATHERINGS.
Mias Joan Fox, Remuera Road, gave a delightful dinner party at the Station Hotel on Saturday night. The table was decorated with pink roses and favours for each gueet. Later in the evening they all adjourned to the cabaret.
A most enjoyable euchre tournament and dance was held on Saturday evening at Muriwai House. There was a large attendance, and the winners of the euchre were Miss Louie Coster (ladies'), Mr. Hayward Hand (men), and Mr. W. Perkins (Pukekohe), consolation. During the evening a monologue sketch was give by Miss E. Meredith (Auckland). The Twusic for tho dance was supplied by Messrs. E. Greenhow ami Bert and Alan Coster.
A delightful all-day party was given yesterday, when Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Shrubsall entertained the visiting musical comedy company, at present playing in Auckland, at the Titirangi Hotel, in the Waitakere Ranges. A buffet lunch, ewimining, and dancing in tho ballroom was thoroughly enjoyed. A wonderful array of the new Marleno Dietrich suits were worn by the visitors. Afternoon tea and three cheers for the host and hostess brought one of the brightest entertainments of the week to a close.
