Gangster's Threats of Murder Or Injury.

(Received 1 p.m.) NEW YORK, January 3. A panic-stricken mother reported to the police to-day that she had received a series of telephone threats to the effect that her daughter, an 18-year-old cabaret entertainer, who is missing, ■would either be killed or maimed. The girl, known to be an associate of gangsters, was scheduled soon to testify against one of the gangsters in an important criminal ease. The first telephone call declared that tho girl would be killed, but later the mother was told, "Your daughter will be returned in 48 hours with her tongue cut >ut. You talked to the police when we told you not to."
