(United P.A.—Electric Telegraph—Copyright)
(Received 10 a.m.) KABUL, January 3. The newspaper "Isbah" contains a photograph, coupled with a remarkable, confession, which is alleged to have been made by Abdul Khaliq, of the murder of King Nadirshah, of Afghanistan, which crime resulted in 16 executions.. Khaliq, a student, aged 23, says he was instigated to commit the murder by the wife of Ghulain Siddiq, who was formerly Foreign Minister in ex-King Amanullah's Government, and is now in exile in Berlin. Khaliq declared that he had a devilish passion for the woman, who provided him with money to assassinate Nadirshah, expecting that the outrage would be followed by a rising throughout the country, and result in the re-enthrone-ment *of Amanullah with personal honours to himself. Khaliq says he at first hesitated, but the woman and also the wives of executed men taunted him with being a coward. The woman refused to love him unless he killed Nadirshah.
The confession adds: "This is the secret of the great national calamity, which I must reveal as the identity of the woman who is at the root of all the mischief must not remain undisclosed."
