Hγ. R. Kerridge, of Gisborne, is at the Grand Hotel. Mr. A. I. Johns, general manager of the New Zealand Insurance Company, returned yesterday from Taupo. The Hon. Lawrence Cotter, M.L.C., New South Wales, is to pay a five weeks' visit to New Zealand shortly. Mr. and Mrs. D. L. J. Clayton, of Auckland, who have been on a trip abroad, arrived at Wellington by the Marama on Tuesday. Mr. F. L. Biss, formerly manager of the Union Steam Ship Company at Hobart, is on - a holiday visit to New Zealand, accompanied, by Mrs. Biss. Archbishop Mannix, of Melbourne, is to visit New Zealand early next month to take part in the celebration of the episcopal jubilee of Archbishop Redwood, of Wellington. The Hon. Sir Charles Latham, M.L.C., West Australia, is expected to arrive at Auckland about February 8, accompanied by Lady Latham, on a holiday visit to New Zealand. Dr. Rudolf Asmiss, German Consul for Australia and New Zealand, will arrive at Auckland by the Wanganella on Saturday. He will be accompanied by his wife and family, and will make a motor tour through New Zealand. The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, Minister of Finance, who received a number of deputations at Dargaville to-day, expects to return to Wellington in a few days. He will come North again later in the month, and will attend the Waitangi celebrations early in February. Mr. James Wilson, deputy-chief manager of the National Baiik of Australasia, has retired at the age of 03. Mr. Wilson is a New Zealander, and joined the Union Bank of Australia in this country. For some time he waa general manager of the Colonial Bank, until the Colonial and National Banks amalgamated.
