CHARTERS ANOTHER VICTORY.
The tournament promoted by the Tauranga South Tennis Club proved very successful. Players from Auckland, Hamilton. Pukekohe, Hastings, Wellington and Bay of Plenty competed. WAIKATO EAST TOURNEY.
The annual New Year tournament of the Walkato East Tennis Sub-Association at Matamata on Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday provided tennis of a high order. While the majority of the clubs affiliated to the association were represented, the popularity of the tourney was testified to bv entries from West End, Eden and Kpfiom (Auckland), Cambridge, Hamilton and Otorohanea. Among the prominent outside players were the top player or Cambridge, Clow, a West End "star" In Mayson, who Is champion of the Auckland Grammar School, and of the Auckland secondary schools; and two wellknown Hamilton club players, Livingstone and Jenkinson. Principal championship results: — Men's Singles.—Livingstone and Jenkinson, both of Hamilton, to play off. Ladies Singles.—Miss N. Beverley. Men's Doubles.—Jenkinson and Livingstone. Combined Doubles. —R. D. Ward and Miss Margaret Beverley. Handicaps.—Men's singles, A. Reid; ladies' singles. Miss L. Kirk ; men's doubles, Jenkinson and Livingstone; ladies' doubles.
