DECISIVE MATCH.
•Auckland v. Canterbury
With two wins to its credit, Auckland's prospects of winning the Plunket Shield this season appear rosy at present, but the issue will not be determined until the playing of the final match of the series. Otago has still to play Wellington, and Canterbury to play Auckland. The latter match will open at Eden Park on Saturday. Victory for the local team means possession of the shield. Defeat, however, and an outright victory ■ for cither Otago or Wellington would put one of these teams level with Auckland on points. Eight points are allotted for an outright win and four for a win on the lirst innings, and in the event of teams having an equal number of points the issue is decided on the best average per wicket.
