WELLINGTON WIN.

Margin of 115.—Canterbury's Tail-enders Go Quickly. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Beautiful weather favoured the final day of the Wellington-Canterbury Plunket Shield cricket match. With Canterbury wanting 290 to win Bellamy and Smith resumed the visitors' second innings against Blunclcll and Pareloc. For a time it looked as if Canterbury would make a big light to get, the runs, but once the wickets started to fall they went quickly, and the whole side was out for 180. leaving Wellington the winners by 115 runs. Shaping like opening batsmen, the not out pair met everything confidently and executed some nice scoring strokes, particularly oil' Parsloc, who was eventually replaced by Hatch, with Lamason later relieving Blundell. The changes were no more successful in unsettling the batsmen, who reached 150 when the innings had been in progress for 102 minutes. Thirty-five registered this morning occupied even time. Smart fielding by Ward and slow running by Bellamy resulted in the latter's dismissal after, the partnership had produced .">0 in ."S3 minutes. Tt was a good knock, spoilt by the wicket being thrown away. 103—0—28. Wickets Fall Quickly. Canterbury's task was made more difficult when Biley stopped a straight ball with his leg after a short stay. 173 —7—5. Riley was quickly followed to the pavilion by Smith, who was clean bowled after batting for 74 minutes. He had played another useful innings, and had hit two fours. 170—8 —32. Damage was done by Lamason, who registered two successive maiden wickets. Hope stonewalled, and Lester was also defensive, but Parsloc, bowling into the wind, beat the latter's bat. 180—9—."?. The innings closed in the next over without any addition, at 12.30 p.m., after lasting 214 minutes. Scores: — WELLINGTON. First innings 328 Second Innings. .
