AUCKLAND'S RAINFALL IN 1933 COMPARATIVELY DRY YEAR. Tho rainfall in Auckland during 1933 was 3.13 inches below the average for the previous 77 years and only .75 inches greater than in 1932. The total was 41.31 inches, the average being 44.44 inches. March was the driest month and February the wettest month. Tho following are the monthly figures for .1933, those for *932 being given in parentheses:—January, 1.48 inches (1.14 inches); Februarv, 7.75 (7.51); March, 0.70 (3.08); April, 2.39 (4.05); May, 0.34 (3.44); June, 2.07 (4.07); July, 4.03 (4.02); August, 4.07 (2.90); September, 4.43 (2.39); October, 2.70 (3.33); November, 2.48 (1.00); December, 2.15 (2.97); totals, 41.31 (40.50). December brought with it most unseasonable weather, which, between Christmas and New Year, was the worst experienced since 1925. Rain fell on seven days, the maximum fall of 0.9S inches occurring on December 20. Less sunshine was experienced iii December than during the same month in 1932.
