BLUE SHIRTS STILL.
Troops Out When General O'Duffy Speaks. " WINNING EVERYWHERE." (Received 2 p.m.) DUBLIN, January 1. Steel helmeted and gas-masked troops formed a reserve for a strong force of Civic Guards who lined the main street in Clonmel when General O'Duffy and Messrs. Cosgrave and Dillon addressed their supporters, most of whom wore blue shirts like General O'Duffy. The inciting honoured the memory of Mr. O'Reilly, the first martyr to the cause of the United Ireland party, by observing one minute's silence. General O'Duffy compared the Fianna Fail's tactics with those of Cromwell and the Soviet. He announced his willingness to suffer any humiliation for the sake of the people. "We are winning everywhere," said General O'Duffy. —"If I am not imprisoned I shall launch a countrywide campaign at Athlone on January 7." Mr. Cosgrave said that only vanity prevented the conclusion of AngloIrish peace. The High Court in Dublin has granted a conditional prohibition preventing the military tribunal hearing and determining the charges against General O'Duffy on the ground that the charges are outside the tribunal's jurisdiction, also that charges of unlawful association are not involved. in a legal offence. The Attorney-General and the tribunal must now show cause for the charges.
