HOLIDAY TRAINS.
SPECIAL EXPRESSES. Many more passengers are travelling by rail this year than last. All Main Trunk trains have been fully booked up, and the difficulty of handling the unusually large number of carriages attached to the Main Trunk expresses has on several days delayed their running. The Limited arrived this morning nearly half an hour late. Yesterday afternoon's express for Wellington consisted of 18 cars, while the Limited last night took 10 carriages and two vans. In addition, a special express, with seven carriages and a van, was dispatched for New Plymouth. A special express from New Plymouth is due at Auckland at 6.38 a.m. to-morrow.
