BIG ANNUAL SAVING.
AUSTRALIAN CONVERSION. (Received U.BO a.m.) CANBERRA, this day. The Prime Minister, Mr. J. A. Lyons, expressing gratification at the success of the recent London conversion loan of £10,047,000, of which the interest yield is £3 16/9, compared with £3 17/11 for the previous conversion loan, said that the Commonwealth would save £304,000 a year in interest and exchange. He added that only £17,854,850 of high interest loans remain to be converted at a lower interest.
