OBITUARY.
» MRS. ELIZABETH KEOHAN. An old colonist, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Keohan, died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. D. S. Shaw, East Tamaki, recently. Born in Waterford, Ireland, in 1850, Mrs. Keohan came to New Zealand 57 years ago, landing at Wellington. Shortly after her arrival she married her first husband, Henry Hodgins, and they moved to Carterton, where for some years she was hostess at the Royal Oak Hotel. On the death of Mr. Hodgins she moved to Mastcrton and then to Pahiatua, where she took up nursing. In 1894 she was married to the late Thomas Keohan, and in 1905 moved to the goldfields, where her husband had established a business. Mrs. Keohan is survived by her three children, namely, Mrs. D. S. Shaw, East Tamaki, M. H. Hodgins, Karaka, and P. E. Keohan, Otahuhu. MRS. E. R. WALLACE. The death occurred at her residence, Waiau Pa, on December 16, of Mrs. E. P. Wallace, relict of the late Mr. Charles Wallace, at the age of 67 years. Mr. Wallace passed away some nine years ago, and since then Mrs. Wallace had carried on the farm on Wharf Road with the assistance of her son. Formerly they were farming near Morrinsville. Mrs. Wallace will be much missed by her wide circle of friends. MR. JAMES HARRISON JONES. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DTJNEDIN, this day. Mr. James Harrison Jones, who died at Dunedin, aged 75, was a partner in the New Zealand firm of Kirk and Co. He was prominent in the wool and skins trade, and had a record of 50 years in the wool trade. He was born at Shrewsbury, in Shropshire, and came to New Zealand in 1880, being well known throughout the Dominion. MR. J. JORDAN. ROTORUA, this day. The funeral of the late Mr. J. Jordan, formerly president of the Tauranga A. and P. Association, was largely attended. Among those present were Mr. Ben Myers, of Auckland, representing the. Pakuranga Hunt Club, and Mr. A. E. Watkins, of Auckland, rcprcscut- ; ng the Auckland A. and P. Association.
