Tlio One Tree Hill Borough Council issued 101 building permits from January 1, 1933, to December 20, 1933. The total value of the buildings was £20,218. There were 18 dwellings of a total value of £11,783, and the largest single building was a nursing home valued at £3137. There is in rural areas an old superstition against using box for the decoration of houses. It is said to cause the death of some of the inmates within a year.
