Passengers Forced to Give Up Valuables.

(Received 11.30 a.m.) CALCUTTA, October 25. Armed with revolvers and daggers, a number of youths raided a moving train crowded with passengers at Kurigram, North Bengal, travelling swiftly from carriage to carriage. The passengers were panic-stricken and were forced'to give up money and jewels. A number, who refused, were attacked and injured. Nearby villagers, hearing of the raid, rushed to the rescue but the raiders decamped.
Jolikana Dutt, a Diocesan College girl student, was sentenced to four years' hard labour for possessing revolvers and ammunition. They were hidden in a bag.

POLICE ACTION IN CALCUTTA,
(Received 10 a.m.) CALCUTTA, October 25. Calcutta will soon be a city of gloom. The police notify that from next month no Women entertainers will be allowed in hotels and restaurants. Hundreds of girls will thereby be thrown out of work.
