ANNUAL SPORTS DINNER.
Y.M.C.A. COMBINED CLUBS,
KB VIEW OF BIG ACTIVITIES.
At the annual dinner of the Y.M.C.A. sports clubs, the secretary in control of their activities, Mr. 3. C. Herbert, stated in a brief report that In the Soccer code 17 YM.C.A. teams and over 200 players were registered, while in Rugby four teams and 60 players were registered. The Y M.C.A. Cricket Club was the largest in Auckland, with six teams and 70 players. The Harrier Club consisted of 15 members, while 400 members were- interested in gymnastic work. . Trophies won during the season were presented by the president, Mr. G. Fountain, who referred to the very fine work being done by the sports bodies for the youth of Auckland. Mr. A. T. Dow, chairman of the athletic committee, extended a welcome to the visitors. Mr. H. Frost replied on behalf of the Auckland Rugby Union, Dr. Neil McDougall for the Auckland Football Association, Mr. P. Shaw for the Auckland Cricket Association. Mr; J. McCready for the Auckland "Wrestling Association, and Mr. E. E. Kitchener for the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association. A splendid programme of entertainment Was provided by Messrs. A. McElwain, Frank Sutherland, I. E. Elliott, and Mervyn Adams. Miss B. Snow was accompanist.
