FAT STOCK MARKET. i WESTFIELD WEEKLY SALE.. The best news ror some weeks, as far as the fat stock market is concerned, came this morning from Westfield, where, despite a larger yarding, there was keener demand, and choice light-weights improved in values. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report: —To-day at our weekly Westucld rat stock market beef was penned in more than average numbers, with a keener demand for choice light-weight cattle, which improved in values. Heavier-weight cattle sold at late quotations. Extra choice ox sold to 20/ per 1001b; choice and prime ox, 16/ to 19/; ordinary and plain ox, 13/ to 15/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 16/ to 19/; ordinary -cow beef, 12/ to 15/. Heavy prime steers ranged in price from £7 to £7 17/6; lighter, £6 to .£6 17/6; _ light, £5 to £5 17/6; unfinished and small, £3 10/ to £4 15/. Extra heavy prime younc cows and heifers, £5 to £5 15/; heavy, £4 to £4 17/6; lighter, £3 5/ to £3 17/6: light, £2 ,y to £3 2/6; other cows, £1 5/ to £2 2/6.

Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report:—To-day at our. weekly Westfield fat stock market we sold 101 head of beef, comprising 43 steers, S8 cows and heifers, as against 145 last week. The quality was first-cla», and a keen demand resulted in values improving fully 1/ per 1001b. Good quality cow and heifer beef was yarded in small numbers, and values for this class show a sharp rise on our last report. Extra choice ox sold to 20/ per 1001b: choice and prime ox, 17/ to 19/; just killable, 14/ to 16/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 16/ to 19/: just killable, 12/ to 15/. Ltd., re-port:—To-day at our weekly Westfield fat stock market we yarded fat cattle to the number of 154 head, comprising 79 steers and 75 cows and heifers. A small yarding of ox beef was of good quality and sold very freely. Light prime cattle showed an increase of about 1/ per 1001b, while heavy cattle remained firm at late quotation?.
