ROWING.

WAITEMATA CLUB. JUBILEE FUNCTIONS. ARRANGEMENTS FOK THE SEASON. The first portion of the Waitcmata Boating Club's jubilee functions, to be held in the boathouse, Iving's Drive, next Saturday afternoon, will also serve to mark the official opening of tlie club's fiftieth season, when Sir George Fowlds, commodore, will preside at the ceremony. Jt is expected that three hundred old members will renew the many acquaintanceships of their rowing days. An interesting programme has been arranged. On arrival at the boathouse all members will sign in a register at the doorway, giving their names and the year of joining up. At 2.45 p.m. a group photograph will be taken and all members are requested to be punctual. After the opening ceremony as many of the past members as possible will be asked to take seats In the boats and the committee will endeavour to reassamble old crews, or, failing that, members of the same period. Rowing gear will be provided for the old members, but 110 doubt those who have treasured their old-time "singlets and shorts" will prefer to again appear as In their active days. Some may not desire to row, but they will find pleasure In meeting others whom they have perhaps lost trace of. The committee trust that past members will not hesitate to introduce themselves to each other rather than wait until they see a familiar face. The big boathouse is lteing thoroughly overhauled and redecorated for the occasion. During the week the public will have an opportunity of seeing the many club trophies 011 view in Milne and Choyce's windows.
