NEW MODES.
The hand-knitted jumper and cardigan are being retained for the next winter's ■fashions. They are of unusual but eminently practical design,, and go with a fitting skirt that has at least one pocket, the whole making a eportylookino, ensemble. Rust red and bottle green °will be smart colours for next winter ensembles. The new elastic weave, used for day sweaters in wools and velvets, is also voguish for evening wear. Evening sweaters are of waist length, in velvet,, georgette and chiffons, and can be pulled on and off. Frocks made of glass ore decorated with a special kind of paint guaranteed not to come off, & n that the dres&es may be cleaned almost in the same way as a window! The new pink zinzolin, a very bright cerise tone, supersedes completely the "dirty pink" of last spring's collections that haa lasted so long and looks well for evening wear in the new stiff materials.
