THE CURTAIN-RAISERS.
Marists Players in Open Events. Richmond Coach's Success. Items of Interest were a goal-kicking competition and 110 yards sprint race held as curtain-raiser events. D. Herring (Marists) won the former against N. Campbell and OTlalloran (Marists), and Hogg (Richmond). The field-length race resulted in a comfortable win for B. Schultz (Marists) from McNeil (Richmond). E. F. Abbott (Richmond) was third and V. R. Jones (Marists) fourth. At half-time a special goal-kicking contest between Ivan Cnipan, F. Delgrosso, A. W. McClymont and Jim Johnson resulted in the success of Mr. McC'lymont.
