MARRIED AT 108.
From a Kent parish register dated November 18, 1685: "John 01 this Parish, almsman in Queen Elizabeth's College, aged 108 years, and J" ar " garefc Thomas, of Charlton, Kent, aged 80 years, were married by license of the Lord Bishop of Rochester, and leave ot the Company of Drapers." The enterprising pensioner's connubial bliss was brief. Eleven months later there was this entry: "Quid Cooper buried Oct. .n, 1686."
