THE "PANTALETS."
WOMEN'S NEW DRESS MODE,
LONDON, October 8.
Miss Peggy Morris, a well-known dressmaker, is seeking to revive pantalets —ankle-lengtli frilled trousers worn by Early Victorians beneath crinolines. Miss Morris admits that crinolincs are not suited to modern life, but contends that pantalets, or even petticoats, would be charming additions to the wardrobe of the modern woman wishing to "dress up." A frock recently seen at a party had under it pantalets and petticoats foaming with billowy frills from the knee downwards. The frock' which had cost a shilling an inch consisted of 35 yards of velvet ribbon, mnd it took two months to dye chestnut. Gertrude Lawrence, who is appearing in the new musical play, "Nymph Errant," wears narrow ankle-length trousers of yellow chiffon, matching her dress. j
