REPEATED SHOPLIFTING,
COURT REFUSES PROBATION.

MARTON, this day.
As a sequel to an epidemic of shoplifting at Marton, a young married woman, M. Forrest, was sentenced to-day to 28 days' gaol 011 one charge and was convicted and discharged 011 four other counts. She has live children, the eldest being aged six and the youngest an infant only three weeks old.
The magistrate refused probation on account of accused's repeated breaches while 011 release 011 bail and her failure to <show regret for the offences.
