NEW AUSTRALIAN STUDIOS. HIGH STANDARD MAINTAINED. (B» Tnipgraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. The general manager of the New Zealand Radio Broadcasting Board, Mr. E. C. Hands, returned by the Marama from Sydney to-day after a brief visit to Australia. Mr. Hand* said that one of the reasons for his trip was to see the new studios erected at Newcastle by the Australian Broadcasting Commission. He had been very much impressed by them. The number of radio licenses was increasing rapidly and was now on the 500,000 mark. The commission was pursuing a policy of importing notable artists from abroad and there appeared to be no dcnibt its efforts to improve the standard of programmes were appreciated by listeners.
