MINE MANAGER'S REPORT.
(Solconfla. — Purine the week stoping was continued on the branch reef south. Tbfi reef has opened out above the splice and colours and dabs of sold are .seen in the ore. In the extreme south end a dropper üboiit 2lu wide went ott into the (ootwaJl. This shows strong colours of gold. Wo have started another slope close to the shaft. The reef at tbis point is about 4ft wide and is carrying zinc blend and silica, and a few colours of gold were semi In the stone. Wo did not crush any oro this week, but will have five head going next week. Wo intond to begin to change over from electricity to water power next week. MAHAKIPAWA WASH-UP. The Mahnkipawa (Marlboroush) wash-up for September produced lOUoz of melted gold. BELL HILL RETURN. Bell Hill Sluicing Company (Ahaura, Nelson) reports a return for the- month of 2Soz. A thorough inspection of the elf)i m has been mude with a view to making improvements. WETHERSTONES PROGRESS. Wetherstones Gold Mining Company, Limited (Outgo), lias issued the following progress report for the four weeks ended September 30: The inclined shaft has been advanced 141 ft lo 727 ft in conglomerate. On the 510 ft level the drive east has been advanced <>lft to 7."> ft, and connected to tin: loading pocket. The uno pocket has been timbered, and also the drive north from the inclined shaft. The drive west is now being driven to the contact, and has been advanced 13it to 20ft. OKARITO RETURN. The Okarito return shows a yield of 370z ldwt of gold for 103 hours' working. BLACKWATER RETURN. The September return of Blackwarer Mines shows that 4020 tons were crushed, yielding 1711 ounces, which, valued at ffi an ounce, represented a total of £10,20'!. Working costs were £5471, leaving a working profit of £4792 for the month. Development expenditure was £701, and capital expenditure £1255. BRIAN BORU DREDGE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.
