WAIKATO SCHOOLS V. MANUKAU.
In their final game for the season Lower Waikato schools defeated Manukau seventh grade by 14 to 5. At half-time Manukau had not scored, while Waikato had made S points (two tries by Nepe, one being converted by Gerrard). Early in the second half a penalty goal brought Waikato's total to 11. Only strong defensive work prevented Manukau from scoring on several occasions. A passing rush begun by Brooks, in -which Tctzlaff and Pearse were prominent, resulted in another try to Nepe, which Brooks failed to convert. Clayton (Manukau) then brought play well into Waikato's twenty-five. From a scramble near Waikato's line Rennie secured a try about half-way out; Hewitt converted, and the game ended with no further scores. Waikato 14, Manukau 0. Mr. C. Davies was referee.
