CHANNEL MISHAP.
COLLISION IN FOG. (Received 1 p.m.) RUGBY, October 6. An extremely thick fog in the Channel was the cause of a collision off Deal early this morning between the French steamer Solon, of 4550 tons, and the British steamer Sandsend, of 3010 tons. Both vessels were damaged above the water line, but no one was injured.
