ADMIRAL BYRD'S SUPPLY SHIP.

NEW YORK, October 6.

Rear-Admiral Bvrd's supply ship, the Bear, which was reported to be in distress to-day off the treacherous Frying Pan shoals, on the North Carolina coast, was towed into Soutliport late last evening by the tug Blanche, which had answered her call for aid.
