SAFE IN PORT.
ADMIRAL BYRD'S SUPPLY SHIP.
NEW YORK, October 6.
Rear-Admiral Bvrd's supply ship, the Bear, which was reported to be in distress to-day off the treacherous Frying Pan shoals, on the North Carolina coast, was towed into Soutliport late last evening by the tug Blanche, which had answered her call for aid. It was explained that the captain desired to make port on account of a storm warning along the coast. The condition of the vessel is satisfactory.
