"THE SPIKE."
COLLEGE MAGAZINE. FURTHER SALES PROHIBITED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CHRISTCIIURCH, this day. The Professorial Board of the Victoria. University College has decreed that no further distribution of "The Spike" in its present form would be permitted. "The Spike" is the magazine published annually by the students of the college, and already a large number of copies of the latest issue have been sold.
The magazine deals with the general activities of the college, the articles being written by students. No restrictions have previously '.een imposed upon its sale. It is understood that the board has taken exception to three articles which it considers give offence, one article, "Untwisted Teaching," being a criticism of the teaching of the lan- faculty at the college. The proposal has been made that other articles should be substituted for the three to which exception is taken by the board. It is also understood that there is a possibility of the students holding a meeting to protest against the action of the board.
