PALMER TO RESUME.
Boxing enthusiast# will be glad to learn that Ambrose Palmer's broken finger lias mended so well that it is out of splints, and that the champion was able to resume active training this week. He has kept himself in trim with light exercises and looks well. The break was in the middle span of the third finger. Palmer is anxious to get into the ring again, and expects to be ready in three or four weeks. That would be during the big racing carnival, and his appeara nee would be a big* draw.
I When a match with Son Tcaley was suggested, Palmer suicl: "That would be fine; I don't know of anybody who would please the crowd better. He surprised me at Brisbane, and for a fewrounds gave me plenty to think about by his combativeness and his pace. '•I won, all right, in the end, though I think I was a little lucky to catch him ( at a disadvantage due to his inexperience.''
