CHAMPION GUNNERS.
One of the best and most interesting contests promoted by the Nobel C'lub was decided on September 23, when the Commonwealth Kkeet championship was retained by C. Thompson.
The event was contested at 21 birds in three rounds of seven a piece from varying angles, and different positions. Of the 22 acceptors in the first round possibles were scored by the veteran C. Corbett, Ted Parow, Charlie Thompson (bolder), Lew Bertram and B. Anquetil. In the second round the possible scorers were Bob Keenan, "Charlie" and "Calrossie." At the beginning of (he third round there were ten left in. and in this round possible scores were made bv Keenan, Thompson, "Charlie," and Bert Tilburn. At the end of the 21 birds, Thompson and "Charlie" were level with 20-21, and Keenan, "Calrossie," Anquetil, and Tilburn were level with 10-21. The shootsoil' were arranged to be decided over an extra round of seven birds. Thompson and "Charlie" shot for the title.
