The Hurdles.

Winner Unlucky. Yesterday. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) OTAKI, this clay. Kimbo was tho second clioice in tlie Hurdles, but he demonstrated that lie •was unlucky on the first day by winning easily from Revision and High Society, who won at Foxton. High Society and Revision led early from Palace and Kimbo, hut the last named jumped to the front half a mile from home. Revision and High Society closed oil him again, and Revision showed the way over tho last fence. From then on there was only one in it, and Kimbo went on to win easily from Revision by a couple of lengths. High Society tired, and was a poor third, and Paleta was well back fourth. Favourites Placed in Plate. Etiquette, Prostration and Hunting lodge carried the moot money in tho Trial Plate, and they filled the places in that order. They were prominent all the way, and led into the straight, ahead of Arctic Region. Half way down tho runDing it looked as if Prostration would win, but Broughton, on Etiquette, had something in reserve, and lie won by a short head. Hunting Lodge was two lengths back, just ahead of Arctic Region. Pheon and Maypay were slow away. The Otaki Hack. Epigram was a firm favourite for the Otaki Hack, but he was beaten into eecond place. Bonnie Vale, who had run well on the first day, finishing too

well for him. The favourite was fire away, but Bettwsycoed was in charg crossing tho top, and she led to tli straight from -Pegged Exchange,- Bonn] Yale, Epigram and Wasteland. One in line Bonnie Vale hit the front, an was not troubled to win by ' over length from Epigram, with Wastelam who had been whipper-in most of tli way, a similar distance back, thin Bettwsycoed was fourth, and Princes Dawn next. Broughton had ridden th last two winners. Plateau Beats Takakua. Takakua was favourite for th Memorial, but Plateau was prominen all tho way, and won nicely at th finish. Saltpot and Plateau were th early leaders, from Gold Trail, Taka kua, Brambletorn and Retract, and th order was unchanged to the straight where Plateau went on to win by lial a length from the hard-ridden Takakua who closed the gap to less than : length. Brambletorn was three length back, just ahead of Saltpot. Acceptable Takes Charge. Haulbowline and Boon were wel backed for the Pukekaraka, but Accept able took charge soon after the start and was never headed. He had a tw( lengths' lead from Haulbowline in enter ing the; straight, with Acreliet thre< lengths back, ahead of Lackston am Boon. In the run to the judge Accept able never looked like stopping, and wor by a length from the hard-ridden Haul bowline, with Acreliet five lengths away Lacks ton was fourth, and Ala. Cherie Boon and First View next. Fourth Success of the Day. There were only three sarters in the open sprint, the Rekereke Handicap, and Broughton was on the winner, the success being his fourth for the day. Sir Pombal got a flying start, but Navaho and Arrow Lad soon closed the gap, Navaho leading across the top and into the straight, closely followed by Arrow Lad and Sir Pombal. In the run to the judge Navaho was not troubled to win by a length and a half from Sir Pombal, with Arrow Lad the best part of a length further back. A Great Finish. Royal Dash was favourite for the Raliui Hack, and she led until To Ua took over, to show the way to the straight, where he was attended by Royal Dash, Tranquility, Whetuma and Hazoor. There was a great finish, and Hazoor (on the outer), Tranquility, Royal Dash and Whetuma finished almost in line ahead of Te Ua, Mercian ■Prince and Mon Roi.
