Many people spread their warm sandwich cakes with cold jam, with the result that the cake is inclined to be heavy, and is not as successful as it might lia\c been. It is a good plan, when the cake is nearly cooked, to place the necessary quantity of jam in an old cup in the oven. Bv the time the cake is cooked the jam will be warm, and may be spread on the sandwich at once.
