BOXING.
OXLEY-PETRIE ON MONDAY.
Ted Oxley, lightweight champion of New Zealand, will have a fight on his hand when he tackles Billy Petrie, of Canada, at the Town Hall on Monday evening, as 1110 visitor is just as liaid a puncher as himself, and combines speed and cleverness with his hitting power. Petrie, making his second appearance in New Zealand, will be a greatly improved fighter to when he met Hughes, and as he favours the same open style ot fHitin* as the champion there should be no lack of thrills for the spectators. Oxley is a prime favourite with fight fans throughout New Zealand, because of his attractive fighting and the fact that he always gives spectators plenty for their money, and for that reason, and becanse he is meeting another fighter who likes to fight, every sportsman who likes to see a great contest should attend.
