EARLY ACTION LIKELY. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. Government action stiffening up the penalties now prescribed for the unlawful "conversion" of motor cars may be expected at an early date.

A pertinent question on the subject was tabled in the House last week by Mr. J. Linklater (Coalition Reform, Manawatu). Telegrams and letters from all over New Zealand supporting life attitude have since come to hand. These are likely to have an important influence 011 the consideration Cabinet will shortly give to the revision of the present penalties.
