EGGS DEARER ON MONDAY.
lOW PRICES HELP DEMAND. On Monday the leading wholesale distributors of eggs in Auckland will advance their prices by one penny per dozen. The new rates will be 10£ d per dozen for first grade hen eggs, 9Jd for B grade and B§d for C grade; first'grade duck eggs 9id, B's Bid and C's 7^d.
Mr. Bert Turner, of Messrs. Turners and Growers, stated to-day that the low prices which had been ruling in recent weeks had stimulated the demand to an appreciable degree. In addition the export trade was a factor. Already this season 50,000 dozen eggs had been sent away and about 15,000 dozen more would be dispatched next week. This was about double the quantity that had been sent away at this period last year. Supplies were still coming in freely, although a continuance of the present dry sitell might have the effect of checking egg j production through hens coming into moult.
