AUCKLAND AMATEURS

After a long spell the A.A.A. and C.C. again staged a junior race on Saturday, the distance being eight miles. The result was :—l* Walton (1.0), 24.20, 1; A. Glover (1.0), 24.43, 2; L. The Papatoetoe Club championship tt.is decided on Saturday with a 20-mile time trial over the Ilowick circuit, and in nonjunction with tilts a field handicap was run. WAIKATO AMATEUR CLUB. The YVaikato Amateur Cycling Club held a road race from Ngaruawahia to the Claude-lands boundary and back, a distance of twenty-two miles. The winner ws W. Montford, of Glen Massey, M. Montford. Huntly, being second, and B. Waugh, Ngaruawahia, third. The fastest time was recorded by M. Jones, of Hamilton.

LADIES' CLUB. Interest in the finish of the Toadies' Cycling Club's eight-mile race at Mount Albert on Saturday was somewhat spoiled by an accident during the last lap to Miss Emily Pile, who was riding from scratch. She was going rather fast round the last bend, having passed the post with Miss ISaird just 10s behind the leading bunch, when she got into difficulties. However she was not badly hurt. Results in details: —Miss Helen Eobinson (1.20). time 20.19, 1; Miss Flossie Wood (1.20), 20.23, 2; Miss Violet Balrd (scr), 23.5, 3 and fastest time.
