OFFICIAL RECEPTION.
The teams were entertained after the match at the Commercial Hotel, when Mr. C. A. Sneddon, president o£ the NewZealand Council, welcomed the visitors and congratulated them pn their exhibition. This was supported by Mr. G. Grey Campbell, and in the course of his reply Mr. J. H. Mostyn, manager of the team, remarked that the team's skipper, EL. Kadwell, who could not make the trip, had been replaced by the next best man available, N. Mork, o£ the champion club, Newtown—an. indication of the respect paid to New Zealand clubs. He outlined the advance made recently by the game in Sydney, and the organisation to that end. Mr. A. Johnston also spoke on the game, and Mr. H. J. Gerrard replied on behalf of the Devonport team. The St. George ofticials and team were taken for a motor drive to the Waitakere Ranges yesterday afternoon. They trained at Carlaw Park this morning, and will be the guests of the Devonport Club this evening'. To-morrow evening they will be at the Auckland Rugby League's first annual ball at Dixieland, but will' not be late attenders, in view of their match with Richmond Rovers the next afternoon.
