CHEESE POSITION DOUBTFUL. INCREASED "ADVANCE" RATE. Cables received from Tooley Street merchants this morning by local agents confirm the improvement noted in tin London butter market yesterday, and it is an encouraging factor that the rate of advances to factories lias been increased. To-day's cables read as follow:— Mr. H. 8. Withers (Mr. A. C. Rowson, London):—Cheese: 48/ to 50/ per cwt. Demand is slow, and the market is steady. The outlook for cheese is rlntibltnl. Butter. First grade, 02/; finest, 'Si/. There we Kood demand; tho market is firm, nnd the outlook very promising. The advance rate for butter has been increased Id from the first of this month, to O'/id. Cheese is the same, at 4V£d. Anglo-Continental Produce Company;— Butter: 92/ to 93/. Market firm, Cheese: White, 48/; coloured, 51/< Market firmer. Messrs. Allen and Findlay, Ltd. (principals, Messrs. Armour and Company, London):-Butter: Market firm. Ne»v Zealand, salted. 91/ to 94/; nnsaltcd >H/ to 96/: Australian, salted and unsnltetl, 91/ to 02/; Danish. 107/ to 103/.
