STRONG FINISH TO WEEK. MINING SHARES ACTIVE. WAITTTS 10UCH £1 6/7. A remarkably strong finish to a busy week was noted on the Auckland Stock Exchange this rnorning. Starting with tha insurance section, there was considerable business in New Zealands at the ruling rate of £2 12/6, -while a sale of South British was recorded a shilling higher, at £3 11/. Bank of New Zealands were a shade lower at £2 8/4, several parcels being placed at this fagure. Following the upward trend of gold, the mining section brought keen bidding, and Waihis reached a new high level, with sales up to £1 6/7. King Solomon Deep Lead, on the strength of another good return, advanced, with buyers at 2/8 and holders asking 3/2. Matakis were again in demand at 2/.
