PLANTING GLADIOLI.

EASILY GROWN. Gladioli are very adaptable and can be utilised for almost any position in tlio garden. Planted singly, in rows, or in clumps they are good, but planting in clumps seems to give them the most decorative value. Four or five bulbs in a circle make a good clump. The trowel should be used for planting,

as it enables the base of the hole to bo mado flat on which to rest the base of the bulb. A dibbler makes tho base of the hole pointed, with tho result that often times the bulb has a hollow space directly below it and does not rest oh the soil.
