Jennie Street, who has been staying in Auckland as the gueet of Mrs. Leaper Pudney, Heme Bay, travelled north on Friday to visit members of the Society of Friends in Hokianga and North Auckland. • • • * Great regret has been expressed in Wellington at the death of Mrs. J. A. Hannah. For over 10 years she has thrown herself heart and soul into the work of the Wellington branch of the Plunket Society, for the last few years being one of. tho vice-presidents, and a highly-valued executive officer. Through times of great growth in the society and times also of stress, she had been a veritable tower of strength. How much the society owed to her wise counsel, ready sympathy, and sparkling humour, to her wonderful organising ability, and her unusual artistic qualities, and above all to her intense loyalty to and belief in the work of Sir Truby King, it would be hard to estimate. Freely she gave of her time and of her gifts; for all the big efforts made for the society in recent years she was the designer and originator.
