DEVONPORT YACHT CLUB.

The tenth annual meeting of the Devonport Yacht Club was held on Thursday evening in the clubhouse, King Edward Parade, Mr. Geo. Trevithick presiding over a good attendance. The annual report, submitted by the commodore, Mr. 6. Sheppard, states that races were held on four days, the slipway and clubhouse were in good order, all available space being occupied in the hauling out area. The committee had worked hard to ensure the success of this section of the club's activities, and their thanks were due to Messrs. J. Shaw and W. H. Oliver for their able supervision. They were also indebted to the committee and the racing officials for their assistance, and hoped that they would continue to work together for the benefit of the club. The balance-sheet, submitted by the hon. treasurer, Mr. V. P. Stuart, showed a balance of assets over liabilities of £525 14/11. The season's working showed a deficit of £56 9/8, against which there were hauling up fees outstanding to the amount of £43 9/, which are payable before the .boats are put into the water. Mr. Trevithick, when moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, said that their position could be partly accounted for by expenditure on the slipway, which would not be recurring, yet at the same time it was a bit disquieting. After several items were explained by the treasurer the report was adopted. The following officers were elected for 1934:—Patron, Lord Jellicoe; vice-patrons, Messrs. E. W. Alison and H. W. F.
