MINOR FIRES.
Three minor fires were answered by engines from city fire stations last evening. Flames damaged a few books in the office of Mr. A. G. Quartley, solicitor in the Safe Deposit Buildings, High Street. Two engines attended, and quickly extinguished the outbreak. Engines from the central and -western district stations attended a fire in a house at 91, Norfolk Street, Ponsonby, occupied by Mr. H. Riddoll, 15 minutes later. Some wallboards were damaged. A suite of furniture was destroyed in the house at 22, Warrington Road, Remuera, owned and occupied by Mre. I. S. Poison. Remuera and Parnell machines answered the call. The furniture in the house is insured for £375 in the Atlas Office,
