SANDERS CUP.
CONTROL OF CONTESTS. THE OTAGO VIEW. (By Telegraph.—Own Corrcsi>ondent.) DUNEDIN, this day. The Otago "Daily Times," in an editorial on the Sanders Cup, says it is difficult to understand why the Auckland controlling authority should not concede tlie principle of Dominion control of the c ulest. The alternative suggestion supported by the Auckland Press is that the cup should be withdrawn until New Zealand yachtsmen can mend their differences. While this proposal has, in the circumstances, something to recommend it, the adoption of it would be an nnedifying advertisement of the bitterness that can be engendered over what should essentially bo a sporting event. Moreover, the New Zealand Yachting Council would probably not accept that solution without a struggle, since it believes that right is on its side.
