A.F.S. SINGLES TOURNEY.
Inter-section play in the champion singles tourney held under the auspices of the Auckland Friendly Societies' Indoor Bowling Association was finalised on Wednesday evening. This year's champion is W. Fletcher (United Bros. Dodge N.1.0.0.F) with H. Campling (Gordon Tent, 1.0. R.) as runner-up. Both played consistently good bowls throughout and fully deserved their success. Results:— Round 4. —Campling 10, v. Beer 1; Fllnn 7, v. Fletcher 1 : Swanson 8, v. Jenkin 5: Francis 9, v. Vazey 3; Sullivan 9, V. McPherson 1. ■ Round £5. —Fletcher 6, v. Swanson 5; Campling 10, v. Flinn 1; Francis 11, v. Sullivan 2. Round G.—Fletcher 11, v. Flinn 3 ; Campling 7, v. Francis 5. Round 7. —Fletcher (1 lifer) o, v. Campling (2 lifer) 4. Final.—Fletcher 9, v. Campling 9. Extra 11 heads.—Fletcher 10, v. Campling 5. The women's fours tourney (male skip) ■will be held on Saturday, September 16.
