MORE BUILDINGS.
CITY FIGURES INCREASE. Permits were issued this month by the Auckland City Council for the erection of 16 dwellings, as against four for the corresponding month last year. In all, 123 permits were issued for August, most of them for repairs and alterations. The estimated value of the work was £18,553, as against' f 17,114 for August, 1932, when one contract accounted for £11,000. Included in this month's figures was the work connected with alterations to Victoria Arcade.
