CRITICISM OF RESTRICTIONS. > _ |. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Wednesday. Keen disappointment is expressed by. local li'uit merchants at the small allocation of South Australian oranges lor Southland. The Waikouaiti, whicli uerthed at liiulf to-day Irom Sydney, brougut 3000 cases, but only 449 are for Southland. I'his is u much smaller quota than was anticipated, and the action oi the (joverument in imposing restrictions on the quantity allowed to be. imported irom South Australia is being criticised here. "There is a great deal about these embargoes and restrictions which require a much fuller and less equivocal explanation than the Minister has so far condescended to give," shid Mr. F. BrCy, the Southland executive member of the iN'ew Zealand Fruit and Produce Auctioneers and Importers' Association.
