OH 'CHANGE.

AN ACTIVE MARKET. BREWERY SHARES ADVANCE. WATTTT HOLDERS ASK £1 6/3. The local share market continues active, witli special attention directed to certain lines. At first it was mining, then • pastoral, and now breweries are well in tile forefront. Last week New Zealands were on oiler at £1 16/. At the first call this morning there we re buyers at £1 18/, while holders had raised their reserves to £1 19/. This follows a movement in Christchurch, where the scrip changed hands yesterday at £1 18/9. Staples' have also firmed up, arid sellers now aslc £1 7/6. Mining scrip retains its strength, and there were buyers for Waihis at £1 5/9, for Blackwaters at £1 17/, and for Consolidated Gold at 17/. Amongst .industrials New Zealand Newspapers firmed, up, ;md after yesterday's call at £16/6 there were still buyers at that figure. Firm Values at Noon. Values "were firm at the noon call, and the market continued to show a healthy tone. An upward tendency was noticeable in the banking section and also in gold mining scrip.
